About Benedictine University

Benedictine University was originally founded in 1887 in Lisle, IL, and today it enrolls nearly 10,000 students. It is a private, Catholic university that offers a variety of values-centered undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Benedictine also offers several of its career-focused education programs in an online format. The fully-online degree programs allow students to complete the same courses as on-campus students but in a flexible and convenient format that allows them to meet their current professional and personal commitments.

Benedictine University offers more than 15 online programs, including two bachelor's degrees, five graduate certificates, six master's degrees, and four dual degree programs. The programs encompass areas of business, nursing, public health, and nutrition and wellness. Online students access their courses through an interactive learning platform that is designed to foster peer and faculty relationships. The programs are asynchronous, meaning no mandatory log-in times, so students can complete their coursework at times that work with their schedule. Online students also have access to a variety of resources to help them succeed, including Smarthinking tutoring, which provides online student tutoring services and an online writing center. Other student resources include 24-hour technical support, academic advising, virtual library access, and career services.

Student Testimonials

''Someone is always available to help. Professors, academic counselors and students are always willing to assist and help you navigate through any issues or concerns. Everybody has been greatly professional and rich in knowledge about any subject matter. I knew of a few colleagues who had completed the MBA program and had nothing but positive reviews. I also liked that Benedictine was a real brick-and-mortar university with over 100 years of existence.''

- Johanna Rycroft, Pharmaceutical Sales
