Free Physics Courses

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology, one of the leading universities known for technical studies, offers a range of courses in physics for both undergrads and graduate students. These courses allow students to delve into theories from physicists like Albert Einstein and understand advanced topics in areas, such as particle physics and astrophysics. See Part 1 for previous physics courses discussed.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

A variety of physics classes, many of which are tailored for graduate students, are offered online at MIT. Courses that deal with theoretical principles cover such topics as twin paradox and time dilation in Einstein's special theory of relativity, general relativity concepts like cosmology, black holes and differential geometry, as well as the quantum theory of solids, standard model, QCD (Quantum Chromodynamics), gravity and the theory of chiral perturbation.

Online learners can also complete advanced study in high energy particle physics, learn about astrophysics concepts like dark matter and stellar structure and examine Hamilton's principle, chaos, Liouville's theorem and nonlinear resonances. Also offered is a course that explores the physics of rock climbing. This course presents engineering problems and asks students to solve them.
