Whether you are a first-time college student or a student looking to add to previously earned credits, American InterContinental University has a program option to fit your needs. American InterContinental University offers career-focused associate's, bachelor's, and master's degree programs with flexible learning options. AIU's programs offer students accredited personalized education, customized course content and a chance to learn from industry specialists.

All of American InterContinental University's degree programs are designed for people with jobs, families, and busy schedules. Students can earn their degrees entirely online or through campus-based daytime, evening, or weekend classes. For even more flexibility, students can combine campus classes with online courses.

Credit for Prior Learning

Students enrolling in American InterContinental University have the option of receiving credit for prior college learning. In some cases, students are allowed to transfer previously earned credits. They can also earn credit for eligible life, military and work experience, allowing them to shorten both the time and the number of credits required to earn their degree. Not all credits are eligible to transfer. The University's catalog gives more details regarding American InterContinental University's transfer credit policies.

Flexible Scheduling Options

American InterContinental University provides three flexible pacing options so students can pursue a degree in the way that best fits their schedule. Students can choose from full-time, accelerated, and decelerated degree programs. Full-time students take two courses each term of study. Students enrolled in an accelerated program take two courses every five weeks. Those in a decelerated program must complete one course per term of study. Although program length may vary, students in an accelerated program could earn a bachelor's degree in as little as 17 months if you transfer in at least 72 credits or have an Associate degree in a related field, and a master's degree in only one year. Graduation date also depends upon your chosen program, and the number of transfer-in credits you have.

Award-Winning Virtual Campus

AIU Online is AmericanInterContinental University's award-winning Virtual Campus and was recognized as 'Best of the Best' in the Education and Academia category of the 2009 Computerworld Honors Program. It allows online students to do everything campus-based students can. Courses are delivered through rich, multimedia presentations with interactive features designed to maximize the education experience. Virtual Campus resources include vibrant online discussion forums, a Learning Center with supplemental instruction, and a library with web-based articles, reference books, and other study materials.
