Penn Foster Overview
Penn Foster has a long tradition of distance education; the school was conceived in 1890 as a way to help coal miners leave the mines and move up to management positions. Today the school offers more than 80 online diploma, certificate, associate degree, and bachelor's degree programs through two divisions: Penn Foster College and Penn Foster Career School.
Penn Foster Career School offers career-focused programs designed to provide students with the knowledge to start a new career path. The affordable career diploma and certificate programs are available in areas of business, technology, health services, legal studies, and automotive repair. As a student at Penn Foster College, you'll be able to enroll in a variety of nationally accredited associate and bachelor's degrees programs, including options in business management, early childhood education, paralegal studies, and medical assistant. Career diploma and undergraduate certificate programs are available as well as individual courses.
Penn Foster's student services promote a supportive learning environment. Even though students learn at their own pace and from their own homes, the school has a toll-free number, which students can call for expert instructional support. They can also contact the student center through postal mail or e-mail. The school has a presence on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.
The school offers a variety of support services for their students, such as resume writing assistance, interview preparation tips, and job search resources. Faculty also correspond and provide feedback to students via phone, e-mail, chat, or postal mail.
Penn Foster Career School and Penn Foster College are nationally accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC).
