About Ramapo College of New Jersey
The Ramapo College of New Jersey has an enrollment of more than 5,000 students, including 100 undergraduate international students and 200 graduate students. It has the smallest enrollment out of all the public schools within New Jersey. The school offers students more than 40 academic programs in the 700 courses offered per semester.
Ramapo College of New Jersey was founded in 1969 and is one of the founding members of a national state-sponsored liberal arts college alliance called the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. For the 2010 edition of the U.S. News & World Report, Ramapo College of New Jersey was ranked number five in the North for top public university master's institution. The school received this ranking for the third straight year.
Admissions and Enrollment Information
Potential students applying to Ramapo College of New Jersey must send in a completed application, SAT or ACT scores, high school transcript, application fee, at least one letter of recommendation but two is preferred and an essay. Transfer students need to send a completed application, transcripts from colleges, application fee, letter of recommendation and a transfer candidate's form. The form should be signed by the dean at the student's previous colleges. Additionally, those transfer students who have less than 45 college credits need to submit high school transcripts and ACT or SAT scores.

Anisfield School of Business
As one of the largest colleges at Ramapo College of New Jersey, the Anisfield School of Business has more than 1,200 students enrolled. The college was recently accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which places it in the upper tier of business schools in the country. Students can choose among five majors: economics, accounting, information systems, business administration, international business and information systems.
School of American & International Studies
The American and international studies school is considered to be the core of Ramapo College of New Jersey as it provides a liberal arts education. Those who graduate with a bachelor's degree from this school can strive for careers in journalism, public relations, elementary and secondary school teaching, publishing and law. In addition to bachelor's degrees, the college offers students a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies degree.
School of Social Science & Human Services
As the largest school on campus, Social Science and Human Services enrolls more than 1,400 students. The college's psychology major is one of the largest majors at Ramapo College of New Jersey, and the law and society major is one that is quickly growing in enrollment. Other majors students can choose from include environmental studies, social work, sociology, ethnic relations and social science.
School of Contemporary Arts
The contemporary arts school combines fine arts with communication arts and offers five majors, including music, communication arts, theater, visual arts and contemporary arts. The Ramapo College of New Jersey has numerous full-time faculty members to teach the college's courses, but it also attracts working artists and media professionals to assist as guest directors and designers. The school is situated in a recently renovated state-of-the-art building that houses a television and audio studio, writing lab and editing suites.
School of Theoretical & Applied Sciences
The theoretical and applied sciences school currently has more than 1,200 students to go along with its 12 majors. The college recently added programs in integrated science studies, engineering physics, biochemistry and nursing. Students can also choose from two master's programs in educational technology and nursing education.
