General Information about Remington College

Remington College prides itself on producing graduates with practical job skills and the ability to compete for entry-level positions in business, nursing, information technology and criminal justice. Currently, Remington College offers bachelor's degrees in criminal justice, nursing and organizational management.

Each of the Remington College campuses are either accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools or the Career Schools and Colleges Accrediting Commission. There are approximately 6,200 students enrolled in Remington College campuses throughout the country.

Admissions and Enrollment Information

Remington College suggests that prospective students first contact an admissions representative to schedule a campus tour and learn about various programs. Students who decide to apply then complete an application and enrollment agreement. All prospective students must show proof of high school graduation, such as a high school diploma or a GED certificate. The final step is to pass a standardized entrance test. Applicants who already hold an associate's degree or higher do not have to complete the exam.

Remington College Divisions

Business Division

The Business Division at Remington College offers both associate's and bachelor's degrees in areas such as business administration, accounting, organizational management and marketing. Many of the programs are available online. The bachelor's degree program in organizational management includes classes in marketing, business law and organization and prepares students for careers in facilities management.

Beauty and Fitness Division

Remington has three diploma programs available in cosmetology, massage therapy and personal fitness training. Each program can be completed in nine months. Students enrolled in the cosmetology program will learn how to properly care for nails, hair and skin. The massage therapy diploma program includes classes in the fundamentals of massage therapy and an internship.

Electronics, HVAC & PCET Division

The Electronics, HVAC & PCET Division offers associate's degrees in process control engineering technology and electronics and computer technology. Diploma programs are also available in ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and electronic technology and heating. The HVAC diploma program may be completed in just nine months. The HVAC program is only available at Remington's Memphis, TN, location.

Culinary Arts Division

The Culinary Arts Division only has an associate's degree in culinary arts and is only offered at Remington's Dallas, TX, location. The goal of the associate's degree program in culinary arts is to teach students the fundamentals of food preparation. While enrolled in the program, students learn about food service, nutrition, baking, the hospitality industry and culinary operations.

Criminal Justice Division

The Criminal Justice Division has associate's and bachelor's degree programs in criminal justice. Students enrolled in the bachelor's degree program will learn about criminal law, law enforcement and corrections. Completion of this program will qualify students to apply for entry-level jobs in security, border patrol, the court system and law enforcement.

Graphic Design and CADD Division

The Graphic Design and CADD Division offers a diploma program in CADD and an associate's degree in digital graphic art. The CADD diploma program can be completed in 12 months and introduces students to many different kinds of drafting techniques. Students will also learn about basic computer-aided design and drafting concepts.

Health Care Division

Degree and diploma programs in dental assisting, medical assisting and medical insurance and coding are offered by the Health Care Division. Many of the diploma programs can be completed in only nine months while associate's degree programs take two years to complete. Each program will give students the needed skills for entry-level health care industry jobs.

Information Technology Division

Remington College's Information Technology Division only offers an associate's degree program in computer network administration. The program requires two years' full-time study for completion. Upon graduation, students may apply for entry-level jobs in security, installation and maintenance and computer networking. Students can also earn as many as six Microsoft certifications. These certifications are offered through the school's Microsoft IT Academy.

Nursing Division

The BSN program offered by the Nursing Division is designed for students who hold a B.S. in a field other than nursing. This accelerated BSN program can be completed in 12 months and is only offered at the Lake Mary, FL, campus. After gradation, all students will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam.
