General Information on United Education Institute

United Education Institute (UEI) has been in operation for over 25 years and has campuses throughout California. The institute promotes in-depth research and study programs that provide students with the required knowledge to pursue a specific career. Prospective students have nine programs from which to choose.

UEI is approved by the California state approving agency to train veterans. Veterans are then eligible to receive benefits from school, provided they obtain permission from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.

Admissions and Enrollment Information

Prospective students must meet with the school's admissions specialist, submit an application and participate in a personal interview followed by a final interview with the Director of Admissions. Many programs offered through the institute don't require students to have a high school diploma or GED unless they're under the age of 18.

Pharmacy Technician Program

Prospective pharmacy technicians may complete an 8-month diploma program through UEI. Graduates can obtain positions as inventory technicians, hospital outpatient pharmacy technicians, chemotherapy technicians or home healthcare pharmacy technicians, among others. In addition, graduates can get jobs working for drug wholesale companies and chain drug stores.

Medical Billing and Insurance Coding Program

Those who participate in the medical billing and insurance coding program can earn a diploma in eight months. Students learn to perform tasks such file and record management, stenography and transcription, form design, word processing and other billing and insurance procedures. There is no high school diploma or GED requirement for enrollment.

Medical Assistant Program

To obtain a medical assistant diploma, one goes through an 8-month program. Potential jobs available for graduates include medical office manager, medical lab assistant, medical receptionist, medical records clerk and medical assistant positions. Entry into the medical assistant program does not require a high school diploma or GED.

Massage Therapy Program

A prospective massage therapy graduate must complete a 9-month diploma program. Students learn about medical terminology, anatomy and the psychological effects of massage therapy. The program is very hands-on, and there is in-depth training on massage technique and current procedures. The program does not have a high school diploma or GED prerequisite.

Dental Assistant Program

Obtaining a diploma through the dental assistant program takes eight months of study. Training is provided for students to confidently work with dentists and patients in a clinical or office setting. No high school diploma or GED is required for enrollment.

Criminal Justice Program

This discipline involves a 9-month diploma program. Graduates can obtain entry-level positions in security and criminal justice. The program prepares students for jobs as 911 operators, retail loss prevention workers, security guards, bailiffs, private investigators and many other related positions. The main idea behind the criminal justice diploma program is to inform students about the procedures and processes of the security and criminal justice field.

Computer Systems Technician Program

The computer systems technician diploma may be earned following an 8-month program. This program provides students with training to become PC support and maintenance providers, field technicians, help desk support technicians or technical support providers. Applicants do not need a high school diploma or GED to enroll.

Business Office Administration Program

The business office administration diploma program is eight months long. Graduates can obtain positions as office managers, word processors, data entry operators, customer service representatives, executive assistants or similar roles. A high school diploma or GED is not required for admission into the business office administration program.

Business Management Program

The business management program leads to an Associate of Applied Science; the minimum time it takes to complete this program is 16 months. Graduates can obtain positions as managers and supervisors. Topics of study include e-commerce, accounting, finance, ethics and practical business law. The specific positions one might obtain upon graduation include records manager, customer service manager and office manager.
