To begin the enrollment process, prospective students can fill out a questionnaire on the Universal Technical Institute website. Program availability and admissions standards may vary; students should contact the branch nearest them for campus-specific enrollment information.

Universal Technical Institute Divisions

Automotive, Diesel and Collision

This division offers three programs: automotive technology, diesel technology and collision repair. The first program teaches the diagnostics and repair of foreign and domestic cars. Diesel technology focuses on the repair of diesel engines. Collision repair students learn mechanical and electrical repair, custom painting, welding and frame alignment.

NASCAR Tech

NASCAR Tech operates out of a 146,000-square-foot facility in Mooresville, North Carolina. The school prides itself on its state-of-the-art equipment and career-relevant training. Graduates from this program can work with automotive manufacturers, dealers and motor sports companies.

Marine Technical Institute

Students learn the art of watercraft diagnostics and repair. Programs focus on both outboard and inboard motors. This means graduates can work in a shop or on-site at marinas, boat yards and yacht clubs.

Motorcycle Technical Institute

Students in this division learn the skills necessary to become entry-level motorcycle technicians. Classes simulate real-world experience with the use of high-tech equipment and late-model motorcycles. Coursework covers all aspects of motorcycle repair, including engines, suspension, chassis and electrical systems.
