The Chubb Institute
Anthem Institute Admissions and General School Information
The Anthem Institute's main campus is located in Parsippany, New Jersey, with state campuses in Jersey City, North Brunswick and Cherry Hill and two out-of-state campuses in New York City, New York and Springfield, Pennsylvania. The school offers only diploma programs in technology, visual communication and healthcare.
General Information about Anthem Institute
Originally called the Chubb Institute, this institution was founded in 1970. It was established by an insurance company in order to train students in computer-related fields. Later, the parent company added medical training to the curriculum. The Chubb Institute was purchased by High Tech Institute Inc. and TCI Education Inc. in 2004, and was renamed to Anthem Institute in 2008. It is now a part of the greater system of the Anthem Education Group.
Across its six campuses, the Anthem Institute has about 4,225 students. The school trains students through diploma programs intended to place a student directly into a profession upon completion. Due to the specialized nature of the university, its programs are not divided among departments. Instead, they are divided into three areas of study. While all six campuses have programs in each of the three areas, not all programs are offered at each campus.
Admissions and Enrollment Information
Students wishing to enroll in the Anthem Institute can do so in three steps. First, the potential scholar needs to make sure he or she meets the school's entry requirements, which are fluency in the English language, high school diploma or GED and a passing grade on the entrance assessment test. Second, students must schedule an interview with an admissions representative at the campus they wish to attend. Finally, an admissions packet must be submitted that includes the school application, an application fee, a high school transcript or proof of GED and an enrollment agreement.

Healthcare Programs
Anthem Institute's healthcare field of study is the most recent addition to its curriculum. However, this field has more diploma programs than any other. Massage therapy is not available at the New York City campus and the surgical technologist program is only available at the North Brunswick campus.

The technology field of study at the Anthem Institute offers two diploma programs. Computer networking and security is available at all six campuses and is designed to teach students skills to install computer networks and arm them with software that will protect them. Computer-aided drafting is only available at the North Brunswick and Parsippany campuses. It teaches how to use software to create drawings that can be used for architecture and engineering projects.
Visual Communication Programs
The graphic design and animation program is available at all six of the Anthem Institute campuses. The program is intended to impart skills necessary to correctly use multiple types of graphic design software to create and edit images, video, sound files and design graphics.
